Elagabalus, 218-222, Philippopolis. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 28mm, 17.40 g 6). ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡΗ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟC Laureat, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right. Rev. ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩC ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΕΩC / ΝΕΩ ΚΟ - Ρ - Ο -Υ Apollo, nude, standing facing, his head turned to the right; he holds his right hand on the top of his head, and rests his left on a lyre placed on a serpent entwined tripod to right. Varbanov 1702. With a dark blackish-green patina. Some traces of cleaning. Nearly extremely fine.
